Users of the Google Pixel 2 XL device are experiencing problems with their devices. Google Pixel 2 XL's fingerprint scanner is reportedly responding much slower after the Android 8.1 "Oreo" update that was released for the device earlier this December.

According to Android Central, owners of the said devices took their complaints to Google's official support forum. Users of the Google Pixel 2 XL complained that the fingerprint sensor performance of the device has slowed down after Android released their 8.1 update for the "Oreo."

Most users claim that it takes the Pixel 2 XL a second to recognize a finger on the sensor. Additionally, the screen turns on quite slow when pressing the power button to get to the lock screen. These users also noticed that the said issues go away when they enable the Pixel 2 XL's "Always On" feature for the display. The solution, however, is not favored by users who are quite particular with battery saving.

A Google employee has already responded and said that he will be "reaching out privately for bug reports and other information." There is no news so far if the problem has been already fixed.

In other news, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are currently discounted at the Google Store. Consumers who are looking the buy the device can expect up to $75 off when buying the devices. As reported by Android Authority, an unlocked version of the Pixel 2 6-gigabyte (GB) version retails for $599, and the 128 GB version goes for $699. These discounts allow consumers to save $50.

The Google Pixel 2 XL 64 GB version, on the other hand, retails for $774, and the 128 GB version is up for grabs for only $874. These give the consumers $75 in savings. As such, interested buyers are advised to grab the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL now as this discount is only available for a limited time.
