Ever since the fifth season ended, fans have been waiting for the coming of "Orange Is the New Black" season 6. Details about the Netflix original series have been scarce, but its stars and creator are revealing little details about the show.

The television adaptation of Piper Kerman's 2010 memoir, "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison," has been renewed until the seventh season. Aside from questioning the upcoming sixth chapter's future, fans also wonder if the seventh installment will be the series' ending.

In an interview with The New York Times in June, the show's creator Jenji Kohan revealed she had not yet decided about the show's future. "I'm leaning toward ending it after seven," she said. However, she explained that the "Orange Is the New Black" story can go on for a long while by just adding new characters.

There are rumors swirling that the sixth season might have a makeover. To recall, in the previous season's final episode, the future of the 10 characters remained uncertain. Also, there is a big possibility they would not be staying in Litchfield Penitentiary anymore.

The fifth season's riot, ignited by the murder of Poussey (Samira Wiley), left other inmates to be sent to two unknown prisons. As the prisoners will be divided, "Orange Is the New Black" season 6 might be taken to a new place. There is also chance that fans are not going to see all of the series' original characters return.

"This season, I feel like it's an amazing facelift," Adrienne C. Moore, who plays the role of Black Cindy, told The Hollywood Reporter. She also revealed the new season will be dealing with the consequences of the riot that happened previously.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 6's production started in July. However, Netflix is keeping the show's cast members in the dark as they are not even sure of their future. The network has yet to give them their scripts. The series is expected to be released in 2018.
