Bandai Namco has announced that "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" will support cross-game battle support with "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden." The news comes just days before the former's release in Japan.

Both Nintendo 3DS titles are the work of Arc System Works, which made it easier to make the crossover. The cross-game update for the two games will be released in November.

Fans ought to be excited about the prospect, especially seeing that "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" are based on two of the biggest and most popular manga and anime series.

Fusing the two could actually allow players to pit these iconic characters and make dream matches that fans never thought possible, including what will surely be an exciting bout between Son Goku and Monkey D. Fluffy.

Bandai did not go into detail about the feature yet, although it was revealed that the cross-versus mode will support the local and online multiplayer modes of both "One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" and "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden."

The latter was released in Japan June of last year while the game hit North America, Europe, and Australia back in October with 20 playable characters.

"One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" will come with 23 playable characters and 80 support characters. The crossover should make for exciting match cards.

It is unclear if the feature will be experienced by gamers outside Japan. GameSpot notes that "One Piece" titles usually do not go overseas, as opposed to "Dragon Ball Z" titles.

There's no word if this will be the case for this major cross-versus event, although fans will surely hear more about it soon as November approaches.

"One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum" will be released on the Nintendo 3DS on Sept. 21 in Japan. "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" already out in the market.
