The Straw Hat Pirates are still having a hard time defeating Big Mom's henchmen in the Japanese manga series "One Piece." However, Luffy is never giving up and he is determined to finish the fight. According to speculations, Luffy will once again face Katakuri in chapter 888. Apart from that, Carrot will be getting a new transformation.

Readers of the manga are aware that Luffy is still recovering from an intense fight with Katakuri. In order to preserve his Haki, Luffy has been avoiding direct battles. Instead, he has been running away from the soldiers, which will help him regain his Haki. Once that happens, he will return to the Mirror World to face the Sweet lieutenant for the second time.

This theory comes from fans of the manga who discussed their predictions on One Piece forum. The second face-off that will happen in chapter 888 might also give Luffy a new transformation. It is known that Luffy is aware of Katakuri's weakness, which the Straw Hat captain can use to his advantage. However, he will choose not to use it because he wants to defeat Katakuri in his full form. It appears that Luffy is also challenging himself, which might trigger Gear 5.

On the other hand, other reports say Carrot will be getting a new transformation in the next chapter. Scans of her power-up are shared on a Reddit thread, showing a more mature Carrot. The transformation of the heroine is far from the bloated Gear 4 look of Luffy or the rage form of Chopper. Her new power-up, which looks more serious, will surprise Chopper and the rest of the team. Fans will see what Carrot can do with this new transformation in the upcoming chapter.

"One Piece" chapter 888 will be released on Dec. 11, but a hiatus will occur starting Dec. 18 to Dec. 24 due to the Shonen Weekly Jump holiday.
