The action-adventure video game "Okami" is getting another remake that will support Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro compatibility. Video game developers Capcom confirmed that "Okami HD" will be available for purchase on Dec. 12.

Capcom has released three new trailers, and it seems that the "Okami HD" remake retains the artistic beauty that made the original game so popular. The remake will also ship with Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro compatibility, so it is possible that the game will have settings that allow it to be rendered at 4K resolution.

The "Okami HD" remake will retain the option for players to experience the game in classic 4:3 aspect ratio. There is also the option to enjoy the interactive loading screens that was originally featured in the PlayStation 2 release.

The remake was first reported back in August when two separate sources told Kotaku UK that an HD remake of the game was in the works. The sources informed them that different retailers in the UK scheduled a December release for the remake of the beloved game.

At the time, Capcom gave no word as to the veracity of the information. However, the release of the trailers confirmed that the company would indeed release a new, remastered version of the game.

"Okami" was one of the last games released for the PlayStation 2, just as the PlayStation 3 was close to launching.

The action-adventure game did not gain as much attention at first. However, the game eventually garnered massive popularity mostly because of its unique gameplay and gorgeous art. The cel-shaded aesthetic of the game combined with the mythology based on Japanese folklore was enough to propel the game to classic cult status.

"Okami HD" will be available via physical copies and Steam. The digital version will cost $19.99.
