For the past few months, Nintendo has been relatively silent regarding details about their upcoming new generation gaming console, the Nintendo NX.

However, avid fans of the company can rejoice as that vow of silence is apparently going to be broken. Nintendo has now announced that they will be releasing a brand new teaser trailer this week, which will give consumers a glimpse of what the Nintendo NX is all about.

Nintendo announced that the first official trailer for the new gaming console will be released at 10 a.m. EDT today, Oct. 20. The video is revealed to be just three minutes long and will be talking about the different features and other details of the new device.

"This preview trailer will serve as Nintendo's preliminary announcement of information regarding the platform," Nintendo mentioned in its recently posted news release.

The company had, of course, already mentioned that they would releasing the new console early next year, more specifically in March 2017. While they had already revealed the console's release date, not much is known about the console itself.

Some reports have claimed that the console may be a hybrid system that will contain several parts. The unit may consist of a portable handheld device with its own processor, power source, and a dock that will contain much of the system's main hardware.

Reports have also revealed that the system could be using the company's own cartridge based system instead of compact discs from other consoles out today.

Nintendo has, of course, not verified any of the aforementioned claims, but seeing as a reveal trailer is already on its way, it may only be a matter of hours before gamers finally find out what the new gaming system will be bringing to the table.

Given that Nintendo has mentioned that the trailer was only a "first glimpse" of the device, gamers shouldn't expect to get the answers to all their questions for now.
