A number of interesting rumors have recently popped up which reveal new details regarding Google's upcoming tablet device, the Google Nexus 7. Strangely enough, the majority of the rumors have claimed that this year's Nexus tablet may no longer be called the Nexus as it will likely be part of Google's new "Pixel" rebranding. As for its release date, if there is a bit of truth to any of the rumor reports, then consumers may be seeing the new "Pixel 7" tablet next week.

Just a few weeks ago, the infamous leakster Evan Blass had confirmed that a brand new tablet was indeed in the works, and that Google had made a deal with the Chinese manufacturer Huawei to build this year's Nexus device. The leakster also mentioned that the tablet was on track for a release before the end of the year.

Based on the leakster's announcements, several reports were then quick to deduce that the brand new tablet may be unveiled during the upcoming Google Launch Event that is set to take place in Oct. 4. The event itself is rumored to be the venue for Google to launch their two new Pixel smartphones — the new Google Dream VR project — and their new internet-driven Google Home device.

As for the tablet itself, new reports have revealed that it could very well be the first device to come with Google's new Chrome OS and Android hybrid operating system, Andromeda. The device was of course initially thought to be coming with Google's latest Android 7.0 Nougat, but contradicting reports have claimed otherwise.

The new and tentatively named Pixel 7 tablet will allegedly sport either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU or a Snapdragon 625 CPU when it is released. The processor will be paired with an ample 4 GB of RAM. Rumors have also revealed that the tablet may be offered in a 64 GB of internal memory configuration that is fully expandable up to a massive 2 TB of extra storage via a microSD card slot.
