Long-running CBS series "NCIS" season 15 episode 10 will feature the risky mission of Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jack (Maria Bello) in Afghanistan. Spoilers indicate that the series might kill off one of its characters over the course of the holidays.

The synopsis of the upcoming episode, titled "Double Down," says "As Torres and Sloane run protection detail for U.S. Senator John Phillips (James Morrison) in Afghanistan for the holidays, they must urgently return to the states after hearing the senator's son is in the ICU. Also, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team investigate the altercation that caused the life-threatening injuries to the senator's son."

The synopsis reveals that the two will be assigned to ensure the security of the Senator. However, the assignment will take a sudden detour, which will be risky for Torres and Jack. The vacation of Senator Philips will be cut short as they return to his son who is in bad condition. While on their way, Phillip's convoy will be ambushed.

With this, Torres and Jack will seek protection from an advancing enemy. A preview of the episode shows the two agents surveying near the mouth of a cave. Jack will tell the others that there is an approaching vehicle that does not look friendly.

Elsewhere, in Washinton, D.C., Gibbs and the NCIS team will be monitoring the situation. They will do their best to help even if they are far from the location. The team is aware that Senator Phillips' group, as well as the security detail with them, are trapped. Once the enemy learns their exact location, there is a great chance they will bomb the cave where they are hiding. Despite this, NCIS will make sure to bring back Torres and Jack alive and well.

Aside from that, the team will also study the case of Phillips' son who got involved in a bloody fight. They will investigate what happened that resulted in the grave condition of the boy.

"NCIS" season 15 episode 10 will air on Tuesday, Dec.12, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
