The highly anticipated basketball simulation video game "NBA 2K17" was recently released a few days ago and players are already trying to get a leg up against other gamers by finding ways to get free items. The game's developer Visual Concepts and its publisher 2K Sports has been known to be quite generous when it comes to these matters, which is why a new promotion has apparently been launched that will be giving players free VCs (Virtual Currency) for a limited time.

The companies usually give out locker codes after a game is released, and players can use these codes to acquire in-game items and VCs. As for the promotion, the companies have apparently partnered with H.W. Lay & Co. and are giving away free locker codes to those who purchase Ruffles Chips from Walmart.

The promotion is open to players who have already purchased the game and are willing to buy Ruffles Chips from any Walmart outlets. However, owners of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game are not included in the promotion as it will only be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

Eligible receipts that can be entered into the promotion are for Ruffles Chips bought between Sept. 10 and Oct. 2 from Walmart. Each player will only be allowed up to 10 submissions, which still translates to a lot of VCs and park cards. Each submission will entitle a player to a locker code that will be giving them 5,000 VCs and two jump pack park cards.

To claim the free locker codes, players must snap a photo of their purchase and receipt and then email to RufflesNBA2K17@2k.com. Submissions will be accepted for purchases made within the specified time frame until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15.

"NBA 2K17" was released worldwide on Sept. 20 and is available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and for Microsoft Windows.
