PC gamers were finally able to get their hands on the upgraded version of the highly popular fighting video game "Mortal Kombat X" yesterday. "Mortal Kombat XL" has, of course, been available to players on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 for quite a while now.

The big difference, however, is that the PC version apparently came with a huge patch that changed the entire playing field. The patch itself was announced to incorporate several changes that would be balancing the playable characters and their movement sets to ensure a fair battle every time.

The game's creator Ed Boon also made an announcement following the PC version release and mentioned that the patch that came along with it was meant to make the characters "better" by creating a more balanced and fun experience for players. NetherRealm studios also held a live stream that detailed some of the changes that was going to be implemented by the patch.

The patch itself included changes to the character's running, wake-up attacks, armor, and air attacks, among others. NetherRealm revealed that running towards or away from an enemy now consumes more energy. Being hit while running also now translates to a loss of 50 energy points. Wake-up attacks have also been improved, which basically allows players to attack more quickly after they had been knocked down by their opponent.

Air attacks, on the other hand, have been tweaked to increase the rate of the hurtbox's growth a frame earlier than the hitbox. Players will now be able to take advantage of this to counter an attack with another attack if they get the timing right.

Changes have reportedly also been made to each and every character in the roster, which is detailed in the length patch notes that was just recently released.

As an added bonus, NetherRealm also announced that all of the in-game items that was previously exclusive only to the mobile version of the game will now be available to all players. Gamers would just need to connect to their WBID account within the game to transfer their skins and other items.
