In the next episode of the CBS sitcom "Mom," Bonnie (Allison Janney) insists on meeting her boyfriend Adam's (William Fichtner) estranged brother Patrick (Steven Weber).

The trailer and promotional photos for the upcoming installment titled "Smooth Jazz and a Weird Floaty Eye" were released just recently. They show Patrick and Adam seated on the sofa in the living room together with Bonnie who appears to be mediating the discussion.

Apparently, the two brothers have not always gotten along since they were younger. Patrick seems to be the one trying to make amends with his brother as he places his hand on Adam's shoulder. The handicapped sibling appears to be having a hard time reconciling with Patrick. Nevertheless, Bonnie is there to help out and bridge the two closer together. She has always wanted to meet Adam's brother and see a related person's perspective on her boyfriend.

Things, however, take an awkward turn when Patrick suddenly has taken a liking toward Bonnie's daughter Christy (Anna Faris). The two women talk about it at the dining room table and realize how strange it will be if she and Patrick have a relationship. First of all, it will infuriate Adam even further and distance them even more. It remains to be seen where Patrick's infatuation will end up and if the two brothers will finally reconcile with each other.

In the last episode, it was revealed that Bonnie was actually a kind person at heart. Christy found out that her mother would perform favors for the building's elderly residents like give them rides to the store or pharmacy. She even read a book to a blind resident when she had spare time. Christy was pleased to learn that her mother was a good individual.

"Mom" season 5 episode 6 will hit the air on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
