MINI owners now have the chance to make their vehicles stand out with a new range of personalized accessories via the British automaker's MINI Yours Customized service.

Beginning in March 2018, owners will be able to use a configurator that allows them to create unique components for their MINI vehicles. The online shop will have a user-friendly interface and it will have enough flexibility to accommodate the requests of customers.

Through the MINI Yours Customized service, parts such as the exterior side scuttle, passenger side interior trims, illuminated door sills and LED door projectors can be upgraded. During the design process, customers will be given freedom to express their creativity. They will be able to choose from different colors, patterns, finishes, and icons. They can even create their own text or signature.

To make these customized pieces, MINI will be using innovative procedures such as 3D printing and laser lettering. Orders will be produced at a facility in Germany in order to sure high-quality pieces that have the same standard as the other original MINI accessories. Printers will receive information directly from the customer via the online configurator so that the final product will be able to precisely implement what was ordered.

Upon ordering, customers can expect to receive their customized accessories in just a few weeks. The trims and accessories can be easily integrated by the customers themselves, but they can also make use of a participating service partner.

These custom pieces will not be permanently affixed to the vehicles. Owners can still exchange the accessories if they change their mind or come up with new ideas. They can also save the original pieces for when they decide to sell their vehicle later on. This ensures that the MINI vehicles will still maintain the design language of the automaker.

MINI has not yet announced pricing and availability for the United States.
