NBC summer series "Midnight, Texas" aired its season finale on September, and until now, fans of the show are hoping for any kind of sign that the series will be renewed for a second season.

Usually, a TV series is renewed before the end of a season, so that fans have something to look forward to. However, there isn't any news yet pertaining to the show's renewal. Since it has already been three months since the show ended, fans are worried they might not get to see a second installment.

Also, despite its strong fan base, "Midnight, Texas" didn't exactly peg high on the TV ratings charts. When the show aired its debut episode, it amassed 3.6 million viewers. However, it slowly dwindled down to 3.4 million during the finale.

There is also NBC's tendency to cancel television shows. The network recently cancelled "Grimm," so fans of "Midnight, Texas" are not really hoping so much at the moment.

Still, there are several rumours that Peacock Network is still currently in talks with the main cast members on whether they are interested in a potential second season. Also, executive producer Monica Owusu-Breen had a chat with TVLine last September about her thoughts for "Midnight, Texas" and a possible renewal.

She said that season two will most likely explore Manfred's decision to host several demons inside his body in order to save Midnight. "Manfred took an enormous risk doing that," she said. "What does it mean to take on evil, even if you're doing that for good? I think that's a question that Manfred, knock on wood, will be exploring next season."

Fans are also speculating that season two will probably delve more into the character of Madonna (Kellee Stewart). The first season didn't focus much on her character, but all throughout the series, she seemed to be hiding more than she was letting out. Her relationship with Olivia's dad is also worth exploring in the second season.

Since NBC has been keeping mum about the whole thing, there is no assurance that "Midnight, Texas" will see a second season.
