Microsoft Surface Phone release date, specs: Flagship to arrive at next week's IFA? Leak teases monster specs

Microsoft is expected to drop a smartphone bombshell at the IFA in Berlin. The Redmond-based company is expected is rumored to launch the Microsoft Surface Phone there.

The tech giant will be there, but at the moment it looks like it is only set to unveil the Microsoft Band 3 there. However, it is still expected that company will surprise everyone with the new smartphone.

Revealing the Microsoft Surface Phone will definitely help the company steal the thunder from competition like the ASUS and Huawei, which are both unveiling their flagship smartphones at the event.

This will also allow it to compete with the Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, which are expected to be launched next week as well.

Microsoft has been awfully silent about the Surface Phone, but has hinted that it will be a product that will put them on the smartphone map after lagging behind with its Lumia handsets.

The Microsoft Surface Phone will reportedly be positioned as a business device and will pack an insane amount of storage and space.

The entry level model will reportedly offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage while the unit after that will double the RAM to 6GB and bump up the storage space to a whopping 128GB.

But the biggest Microsoft Surface Phone unit will allegedly come with 8GB of RAM and a whopping 500GB of storage. Some say there will be a 512GB version and a 256GB version as well.

Either way, whichever models the Microsoft Surface Phone comes in with, it will still be one heavyweight of a smartphone, a device that could literally be a pocket-sized computer.

Speaking of which, Microsoft is allegedly making most out of the Windows 10 for the flagship smartphone as some important upgrades will come from there by way of the Redstone 2.
