Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date imminent as Microsoft discounts original

The unveiling of the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is said to be imminent as the original version of the laptop is already being sold with a price cut.

Discounts are believed to herald the coming of new versions of products, and this is what could be happening for Microsoft's newly introduced laptop line.

The refurbished versions of the Microsoft Surface Book come with a price markdown no less than $400. While the discounted versions are refurbished, such huge price cut is still definitely a steal.

This is believed to be Microsoft's efforts to clear its stock of the laptop as the Redmond-based company welcomes the Microsoft Surface Book 2.

Interestingly, ZDNet is reporting that while Microsoft will have a launch event next month, a new iteration of the laptop will not be part of it.

Microsoft will reportedly reveal the rumored Surface-branded All-in-One personal computer. As per the site, it is being dubbed as Cardinal, which is billed as "a product that can turn your desk into a studio."

The software giant is also reportedly rolling out feature updates on its existing Surface tablets. A Microsoft Surface Book 2 reveal is not expected until next year.

As reported in the past, the laptop is expected to be released spring next year as Microsoft waits for the Redstone 2 update on Windows 10 so that they can add more features to the device.

The laptop was expected to arrive next month since it was October last year that the first Surface Book was unveiled. It is unknown if Microsoft will follow a yearly product release, but the company has done so with its tablets.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to come with an Intel Kaby Lake processor, a thinner build, and more exciting features. A specific release date should be revealed in the months to come.

For now, the spotlight will be on Microsoft's attempt at desktop products.
