Microsoft Lumia 650 is no longer a myth. Microsoft Chief Marketing Officer Chris Capossela confirmed during a Windows Weekly podcast that the smartphone, which has been leaked in the past, is indeed in development.

However, he was quick to warn that the Redmond-based tech giant has not determined a release date for the device yet. He also did not go into detail as far as the specs of the upcoming member of the Lumia family, although rumor mills have been consistently churning out info.

The Microsoft Lumia 650 is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor, making it a low-end smartphone. It will allegedly come with a 5-inch 720p display. The handset reportedly has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB expandable storage to offer.

In the imaging department, users can imagine an 8-MP rear-facing shooter complete with LED flash and a 5-MP front-facing snapper, which proves that Microsoft continues to make an effort in keeping their mobile offerings selfie-centric.

Meanwhile, a new report suggests that Microsoft Lumia 650 won't be the only newcomer in the Windows clan. For a while now, there have been talks about the existence of the Microsoft Lumia 850, which happens to be the star of a new leak.

Photos of alleged protective cases for the purported handset were leaked, showing what the device will look like. On the back there is a pear-shaped cutout for the primary camera, with its LED flash sitting on top of t.

On the right hand side, there's a circular space allotted for the speaker. A volume rocker above the power button sits on the right edge of the Microsoft Lumia 850. It isn't shown in the leaked images but the device is rumored to don a metal frame.

Considering previous rumors, the device is higher-specced than the Microsoft Lumia 650. It has a 5-inch display and equips a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. It sports a 10-MP rear shooter with Zeiss lens and a 2,650-mAh battery. There's no word on the release date yet.
