Matt Lauer, Annette Roque divorce rumors: Couple staying in one house for the children's sake

Since the sexual abuse issue that has involved Matt Lauer, there have been rumors about the separation of the former NBC news anchor from his wife Annette Roque. However, new reports indicate that the two are staying together for their children's sake.

According to People, a source told them that Matt is fighting to save their marriage of 19 years. The source added that Matt does not want a divorce, and that the couple are thinking of their children. The pair share three children, 16-year-old Jack, 14-year-old Romy, and 11-year old Thijs. The outlet added that the couple are living in the same house but they are no longer wearing their wedding rings.

Despite the strain that they undergo in their marriage, they make sure that their children are not affected especially that they are still in school. The children noticed that the pair are no longer wearing their wedding rings. Roque got very angry at Lauer that she no longer wears her wedding ring. She also wanted Lauer to do the same.

Even without their wedding rings, the couple make sure that the children are still comfortable being with them. For now, Roque does not have any plans of taking the children away from Lauer. However, there is still a possibility of a divorce soon.

"The kids are really the one good constant he has left in his life right now, and there's no way Annette would consider pulling that away from him when he needs it most," an insider revealed to Hollywood Life. The insider added the couple are "fully focused on the children and maintaining their well-being first and foremost."

Since the scandal, the family has been staying under the radar. Lauer no longer appears on "Today," where he worked as a co-anchor for 20 years. To recall, NBC fired Lauer after one of his colleagues sent a detailed complaint about his improper sexual behavior. Aside from that, many other women started accusing him of sexual assault and harassment. The actions of the former host are also an indication that he has been unfaithful to his wife since they got married in 1998.
