In the premiere episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," the team led by Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) finds themselves in a mysterious outpost out in space.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Orientation: Part 1" was released recently and showed Coulson and an unknown person meeting for the very first time. "Agent Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D, you've come to save us," the mysterious man says to him. The beleaguered spy appears confused and asks, "Just to clarify, where is here, who is us, and from what?" Later he discovers that he is out in space as he watches a swarm of asteroids float outside the window. His other companions are also on the mysterious outpost namely Alphonso Mackenzie (Henry Simmons), Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) and Yo-Yo Rodriguez (Natalia Cordova-Buckley). They are just as confused as Coulson regarding where they currently are.

All of a sudden, a blue alien monster crashes through a door and starts chasing them through a corridor. Rodriguez has a laser gun in her hand and starts shooting at the terrifying four-legged creature. It avoids the laser beams by leaping onto the wall and running on it. Apparently, it is able to stick to surfaces and still run with ease. It remains to be seen if the team will be able to escape from the giant insect and figure out where they are in outer space.

In last season's finale, Coulson and the team decided to have a meal together in a diner and unwind. However, a mysterious group entered the establishment and abducted all of them. A while later, Coulson woke up somewhere and found out that he may actually be in outer space.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 5 episode 1 will hit the airwaves on Friday, Dec 1 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
