"Married at First Sight" couple Nate Duhon and Sheila Downs are splitting. Lifetime

"Married at First Sight" has brought many couples together but not everyone who married through the Lifetime's reality TV show had a happy ending. It includes Sheila Downs and Nate Duhon, who first met in season 5 of the reality show. Recently, news about the couple's divorce are all over the internet.

Early this month, fans already spotted signs of trouble in the couple's marriage. Sheila posted on Twitter that she got a call from a woman who has been sleeping with her husband. She added that this is the same woman who called her during their honeymoon.

One Twitter user responded telling her to make sure that it is real because jealousy could push people to lie and deceive her. With that, Shiela replied that her husband admitted the affair.

A few weeks after Shiela posted such on Twitter, Nate responded through the same social media site. He said that they are no longer living together, and he already filed for divorce. Nate belied Shiela's statement that he admitted his infidelity. He added that it is not the reason for their divorce. Nate's lawyer as well as that of "Married at First Sight" are aware of their decision and the reasons behind it.

Shiela also shared her side of the story which she posted on Instagram. She said that instead of operating in integrity, Nate chooses to lie. She revealed that her ex-husband was dishonest and had affairs with different women throughout their relationship. She said that Nate would block her number, ignore her calls, engage in illicit activities and never come home at all.

The couple even consulted a total of four counselors in an attempt to fix their marriage. They faced different challenges during their relationship which include trust issues and family disputes. Shiela said that despite all that, she stayed in the marriage because of her covenant with God.

She also shared that Nate wanted a divorce many times already. She even referred to one episode wherein she had a meltdown on the balcony. During that time, Nate asked for a divorce and Shiela still wants them to work on their marriage. Shiela ended her message by saying, "I am proud of this woman who knows what she deserves and a God who has shown me the true definition of unconditional love."
