Manny Pacquiao injury news, next fight rumors 2015: Pacman recovering well following shoulder surgery

Former eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao is recovering well from his shoulder surgery and will return to the United States from the Philippines according to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum for another check up.

Pacquiao injured his shoulder while training for his May 2 mega fight against Floyd Mayweather which he lost via unanimous decision.

According to the Filipino slugger's camp, the shoulder injury was aggravated during the fight which hindered his movements.

Pacquiao underwent surgery to fix a rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder days after the bout against the unbeaten American welterweight and is recovering very well according to Arum.

"Manny says he has been doing well. He said he has been feeling better," the Top Rank CEO said in the final news conference for the Bradley-Vargas bout Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Arum said Pacquiao will be in the U.S. on July 4 for a follow-up exam with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, ESPN reported.

"Manny is coming over to see the doctor and then he will start his serious rehab. He'll stay here for probably about two weeks and then he will go back to the Philippines. One of the rehab guys will go with him to make sure he is doing his rehab program the right way," Arum stated.

The 83-year-old also said that he has been keeping in touch with Pacquiao following the fight against Mayweather and they have been discussing about the earnings from the bout.

"Every week he calls and I update him on the money that is coming in. It's money like he's never seen before," Arum said according to ESPN.

Because of the shoulder injury, Pacquiao will miss action for the rest of 2015 but Arum believes he will be able to return to the ring in the first half of 2016 if everything goes well.

A possible opponent for Pacquioa is British slugger Amir Khan who wants to take on Floyd Mayweather but is being denied of the chance.

Khan said he is open to taking on Pacquiao although according to him the Filipino needs to 'man up' if he wants a fight.
