MacBook Pro 2016 release date in October? Tim Cook strengthens commitment to new laptop line

Expected to be launched at Apple's long-awaited keynote event last Sept. 7, the highly-anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 was not part of the affair. But if the new reports are to be believed, it won't be long before it arrives.

According to the latest reports, the laptop will see the light of day next month. Apple used to have launch events in the month of October mainly for new iPad iterations.

As fans know, even the iPad was not mentioned at the event. It is now expected that the company will set a launch event this October for the MacBook Pro 2016, and even the new iPads.

The absence of the device in Sept. 7 had many worried about the fate of the laptop line. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook assured that they are not done with the MacBook Pro yet.

Macrumors recently shared a screenshot of an e-mail exchange between Cook and a reader where the former said "I love the Mac and we are very committed to it. Stay tuned" when asked about its plans for the MacBook Pro.

The site says that while the authenticity is not entirely proven authentic, the headers of the e-mails show that they come from the company's corporate servers.

That being said, the MacBook Pro 2016 will still find its way out Apple's doors soon. The question now is when that will happen. Cook's response did not suggest on a schedule, but it looks like the wait for the laptop will be over eventually.

The MacBook Pro is in dire need of an upgrade as the laptop that Apple currently still has available is already four years old and is now heavily dated in terms of hardware.

Expected upgrades for the MacBook Pro 2016 as per Bloomberg include an OLED bar to replace the function keys and at the same time display functions for other apps.

It will house an AMD Polaris card while an Intel processor is expected to be the source of its power. This will result to a thinner build for the laptop.
