In the highly competitive electronic gadget market, imitation may indeed be the highest form of flattery as numerous brands do usually copy other more successful manufacturers in the hopes of becoming a cheaper or more powerful alternative to the said brand. This is basically why there seems to be a lot of smartphones that somewhat resemble an Apple iPhone. Now, Lenovo is set to launch a product that has been described by some to be a Microsoft Surface Pro clone, the Lenovo Miix 520 2-in-1 tablet PC.

Lenovo previously launched the Miix brand back in 2014, which was then followed by the Miix 510 back in August this year. The overall profile and design for both products do closely resemble that of Microsoft's hybrid device, including its dimension and its built-in stand. New reports have revealed that Lenovo may be on the brink of launching the next generation Miix device, and it looks like it may be coming out to directly compete with Microsoft's upcoming Surface Pro device, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

Aside from the similar design and looks, the new Miix device looks to sport some very impressive hardware. As of the moment, there is no way of knowing how it will compare to Microsoft's device, as there still seems to be no official reports yet on the new Surface Pro's hardware and features.

According to a recent leak report from WinFuture, the brand new Miix 520 2-in-1 PC is rumored to be powered by Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor which might be paired with up to 16 GB of RAM. The device will reportedly be coming with a 12.3-inch display that will feature a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution protected by the latest Gorilla Glass cover to protect it against scratches.

The report also claims that the device would likely be sporting a dual camera setup at the back, namely an 8-megapixel and a 2-megapixel unit. The dual camera setup is believed to be able to work with augmented reality applications. The new hybrid is rumored to have a slew of connectivity options and several ports including two USB Type-C ports and one USB 3.0 port.
