Fans already have an idea of what to expect when "Justice League" is finally out, but Ezra Miller revealed that there is one thing that fans should not expect to see in theaters.
It can be assumed that Miller's Barry Allen already calls himself by his iconic moniker in the movie. However, Miller revealed that it was not the case. Barry Allen is not referred to as The Flash in the upcoming movie. Speaking to WSVN-TV's Chis Van Vliet, Barry not having an official superhero name was nearly referenced in the movie, in a scene that ended up getting cut out.
Miller said that Barry is just Barry, and the scene in particular is of him rambling on about his lack of a codename. The actor does understand why the scene was left out of the movie's final cut, but he still teased that it was a very funny bit.
"He's going on and on trying to figure out who he should be and what he should call himself. So yeah, he doesn't have a superhero name yet," shared Miller.
It actually is not too hard to picture that scene, seeing as The Flash has been called various nicknames in the comics. Barry may have probably called himself "The Crimson Comet," "The Scarlet Speedster," or even "The Blur," which was what Grant Gustin called his superhero persona in the television series.
Although that scene may not have made it to the final cut, fans should expect a lot of Easter eggs related to the speedy superhero. Some Easter eggs were already present in Barry's lair, like Captain Cold, "The Flash" TV series, Action Comics, and "Rick and Morty."
In a group interview to promote the upcoming film, Miller, along with Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ray Fisher, and Jason Momoa were asked which League member they would want to play aside from their own characters. Given finger pointers, they would point to the character that they would want to play. Cavill, Fisher, and Gadot all picked The Flash, Affleck and Miller chose Wonder Woman, and Momoa picked Batman.
When they were asked why The Flash was the number one pick, Fisher simply answered that it was because of the Speed Force. "The Speed Force, man. Who would not want to use the Speed Force?" said Fisher.
It was a fun explanation, perhaps hinting that the speedster would be the breakout character of the movie. The Flash has been in charge of comic relief as seen in the numerous trailers and clips that were revealed so far. So, it is understandable why they would want to play the most fun character.
"Justice League" will premiere on Nov. 17.
