Fans have been eagerly anticapating the return of "John Wick 3" on the big screen. Now that the film has reached its pre-production stage, the movie's casting is about to begin and new cast members will soon be announced.

According to Omega Underground, the movie franchise's screenwriter Derek Kolstad already completed the third installment's script. Thus, it is now under development. However, no official details about the new movie chapter's storyline are revealed yet, but it is expected to pick up where "John Wick 2" left off.

In fact, as per the film director Chad Stahelski, "John Wick 3" will look into John Wick's (Keanu Reeves) backstory. Fans are about to know why he "is this and that" as they are about to give away some pieces about his real personality that fans have to stitch together. Also, the 53-year-old lead star himself is eyeing to have Tilda Swinton, best known as Karen Crowder in the 2007 film "Michael Clayton," to be part of the third movie.

After the pre-production stage, "John Wick 3" is believed to start filming in the spring or summer of 2018. Reeves even hinted that the third movie's production might commence in different countries such as Jerusalem and Tokyo. Stahelski also shares the same sentiments. "While the group talked about the U.K., Paris, we'd love to do the Middle East and Asia, those are our hotspots," he told Digital Spy.

To recall, after the release of "John Wick: Chapter Two," which has been positively received by fans and critics alike, Lionsgate announced the making of "John Wick 3." In fact, it already has a release date happening on May 17, 2019.

"John Wick: Chapter 2" has been commended for its action-packed scenes, additional characters, and revealing backstories. The second film ended with a major cliffhanger that set its continuation for a third movie.
