Linsanity is slowly dribbling its way back to the basketball court with Jeremy Lin -- growing to be one of the most prized reserves of the Charlotte Hornets -- on a roll as he plays for his new team and new home.
NBA fans will remember that after his to and fro parley with his former team Lakers, Lin signed a $4.4-million contract with the Hornets. According to Crossmap, Lin has been a great boost in helping his team bag wins ever since.
Lin averages 11.7 points, 3.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game and only 1.8 turnovers per game. The Sports Quotient adds that Lin gets to play 25.1 minutes per game, which is impressive considering he remains a reserve for the Hornets.
His position in the team has not hindered Lin from clocking in a stellar clutch scoring. In fact, among the players in his team, he ranks second, next to Hornets point guard Kemba Walker in this aspect.
Lin's performance also puts the Hornets closer to becoming participants in the playoffs. Their current win-loss record stands at 16-13 after an epic win against the Memphis Grizzlies. During his 28-minute play, Lin put in 13 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds.
Lin also helped the Hornets trounce the Lakers last Monday with a 108-98 victory. In an interview after the said basketball conquest, Lin hinted that his noticeable improvement in court comes from the fulfilment he gets from his new team.
"I have a lot of people saying, 'Man, you're smiling a lot more on the court.' I am having fun out here," he said, as quoted by LA Times.
The Sports Quotient believes that Lin could be on his way to winning the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award, foreseeing the Hornets making it to the playoffs. Lin will allegedly be up against Will Barton of Denver Nuggets, Victor Oladipo of Orlando Magic and Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans.
