A lot of unexpected twist and turns have happened before "Jane the Virgin" took their mid-season break following the airing of episode 7 of the fourth season on Friday, Dec. 8.

In her interview with AM New York, Andrea Navedo (Xo) said that Xo and Rogelio's (Jaime Camil) decision to go into couple's therapy will be a good move for the couple. "I won't go into details, but there's a significant issue that turns up for her," said Navedo. "I'm curious to see where it's going to go."

Navedo also said that it would not be a good thing for Xo's character to have that personality she had in season one of the show. "People do grow," Navedo added.

Additionally, "Jane the Virgin" writer Jennie Urman teased TV Line that Rogelio will have a lot more fun during the couple's therapy than what he had imagined. Urman also stressed how Rogelio will do everything he can to make things work because of his commitment to Xo and their relationship.

Janes' (Gina Rodriguez) biological father will also be meeting a new character in the second half of the show. This new character "is going to make Rogelio's life amazingly complex, amazingly rich and it's going to bring a lot to the show," Camil tells Bustle. "On a personal level, I am extremely honored and humbled and extremely happy that this is gonna happen."

"Jane the Virgin" debuted on The CW on Oct. 13, 2014. The romantic comedy-drama show is a loose adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela "Juana la Virgen." The show has received a 100 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes for all four season. Gina Rodriguez, the show's main protagonist, has received good comments on her acting as well.

The second half of "Jane the Virgin" season four is set to air on Friday. Jan. 26, 2018, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
