iOS 8.4 bugs, problems: Fixes to connectivity, battery life and installation issues

A lot of users are complaining about the latest iOS version release due to the various bugs that accompany it; from installation to messaging.

The most recent iOS 8.4 update came with numerous bugs and glitches. Most are quite easy to deal with while others can persist. A guide on how to fix and mitigate the known iOS 8.4 issues is detailed below.

First issue that most encounter is with the installation. Users have reported that they get stuck during the installation process. An easy fix for it to hold down the power and home button until the mobile phone or tablet restarts. Note that should it would take at least a 10-second hold to queue the restart. After the reboot, installation of the iOS 8.4 can resume.

Another issue with Apple's new mobile operating system is connectivity through Wi-Fi. Some report that the issue gets fixed by simply resetting the network settings. Do this by going to "Settings", tapping on the "General" tab and selecting "Reset Network Settings". It is also a good idea to flush the new network cache to previously connected networks by going to "Settings", tapping on "Wi-Fi" and selecting the connection that needs to be flushed. Tab on the chosen connection and select "Forget". Once that's done, try reconnecting to the network. If that still does not work, a router reset may be in order.

4G LTE connectivity was reported to have a conflict with the integrated GPS within the mobile devices after an iOS 8.4 upgrade. To fix the issue of a malfunctioning GPS while having the LTE connection on, toggle the cellular data by turning it on and off. If that does not work, try and set the phone on "Airplane Mode" for about thirty seconds at a time.

iOS 8.4 seems to be really bad with connectivity for reports of malfunctioning Bluetooth adapters after the OS upgrade were also reported. To address this issue, do the same as what was the suggested solution for Wi-Fi issues; flush the previous connections by choosing "Forget" when presented the options tab.

Messaging bugs also came packed with 8.4. To fix the issue, go to "Settings", tap on "Messages" and toggle "iMessage" on and off a few times.

Apple Music users have been running into all sorts of problems after the iOS 8.4 update's arrival but one of the most common is an iCloud Music Library Can't be Enabled error.

The crazy thing about the iOS 8.4 is it affects battery life. The majority of reported instances involved Apple Music users. However, the issue should fix itself once further updates are installed.

Another issue, perhaps the most common, linked to Apple Music is the "iCloud Music Library Can't be Enabled" error. The suggested fix is to go into the "Settings", turning the iCloud Music Library On and choosing to Merge or Replace the music library. It should address the problem.

If all else fails, reverting to iOS 8.3 is still available, for a few weeks at least. If that fails still, factory reset is the last resort. It may take time, and it may wipe out everything in the phone including the apps installed and music downloaded but it will at least make the iDevice experience less annoying.
