iOS 11 jailbreak release date, news, rumors: Latest beta for CoolStar Electra JB tool now available

Apple iOS 11 preview in different Apple devices Apple website

Months after the release of the iOS 11, there has been no reliable jailbreak tools yet to tweak the settings of Apple's current mobile operating system. Nevertheless, some software developers took the challenge to create the first ever JB tool compatibel with the latest iOS version. For one, CoolStar is doing well with its Electra jailbreak tool, especially now that the latest beta 7 update has gone live.

According to the latest reports, the latest beta 7 update for Electra jailbreak tool provides some important bug fixes. Since CoolStar introduced the jailbreak tool, compatible for the iOS 11.0, 11.1, and 11.2 versions, some users have noted some irregularities, suggesting that the current software is not yet fully stable.

The latest iOS 11 Electra jailbreak beta includes the new patch for Amfid, which is necessary especially when the Amfid patch was killed. The beta 7 update also clears the Amfid patch files that messes up with the jailbreak tool. Lastly, the update also adds a 3D Touch shortcut for the developer's own exploits.

To recall, the iOS developer CoolStar was able to come up with a jailbreak software that will support iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 11.0 to 11.2 versions. The Electra jailbreak tool uses the same open-source tfp0 exploit developed by security researcher Ian Beer. This iOS exploit has been discovered late last year, and it took CoolStar a few months to create Electra using the same concept. It should be noted that the Electra jailbreak tool does not install Cydia or Mobile Substrate to the device, which are the usual components of the previous iOS jailbreak software. It also does not include DPKG and APT patches, which many jailbreaks are accustomed to. Still, this jailbreak can be used to install third-party extensions through SSH.

Another thing to note about the iOS 11 Electra jailbreak is that software developers are the only ones who can use the tool. CoolStar has not yet launched the exploit for public use, although a more generic version of the jailbreak tool could be released soon.
