Pangu and other hacking teams have been having a hard time catching up with Apple as the company has been dishing out new updates to their operating system at a steadily increasing rate.

Apple had just recently released their latest operating system version — iOS 10 — a week ago, and now they have released a new update once again, iOS 10.0.1. The release itself came as a surprise to fans who had just upgraded to the latest operating system, and probably even more so to the hacking teams who are still working on the jailbreak for iOS 10.

Apple themselves had previously run several beta tests for iOS 10, with Pangu and his team closely behind trying to come up with a jailbreaking tool before its official release.

Back in July, Pangu had showcased a working iOS 10 jailbreak that was based on the eighth beta version of iOS 10. It isn't yet clear if that same tool would still work after the update from Apple.

As of the moment, Pangu and other jailbreaking teams have yet to release a stable jailbreaking tool for iOS 10. Users who want to jailbreak their iOS devices are still stuck with the older version of the operating system and cannot upgrade to the new versions. Upgrading to any of the newer versions will, of course, remove any jailbreaking done on their device, which means that Apple currently still has the upper hand.

The new iOS 10.0.1 update is currently available for iOS devices newer than the iPhone 5s, iPad 2, iPad Mini 2, and sixth generation iPods. Users are also automatically notified when the update becomes available in their area, but users may also check it manually by going to settings, general, and then opening up software update. The update size differs on the type of device and will range from 25MB to 60MB.
