U.S. consumers who want to try the latest Huawei flagship phone Mate 10 may be able to do so with AT&T carrier starting February 2018.

According to The Verge, The Information reports that the Huawei flagship Mate 10 will be making its debut with AT&T in February. Huawei is expected to challenge Apple, which is currently the top smartphone maker in the country. The report also stated that Huawei is planning to spend $100 million on advertising the Mate 10 in 2018.

If this proves to be true, this will be the first time that a U.S. carrier will be pushing a high-end smartphone other than that of Apple and Samsung smartphones. Huawei devices are already in the U.S. market (via Best Buy an Amazon), but they are not partnered with any telecommunications carrier.

It was reported earlier this month by Bloomberg that Huawei Technologies Co. and fellow smartphone maker Xiaomi Corp. were in talks with huge U.S. carriers like AT&T and Verizon to sell their devices in the huge U.S. market, which Apple and Samsung currently dominate. And, while the talks were never confirmed, it seems that something is already materializing with Huawei and AT&T.

Huawei's Mate 10 was first released in October 2017. It features a combination of glass and aluminum frame for the build, with Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The screen measures 5.9 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (16:9 screen ratio).

The Mate 10 runs on a Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset with a 4-gigabyte (GB) random access memory (RAM) and an octa-core central processing unit (CPU). The device uses a Mali-G72 MP12 graphics chip and runs the latest Android 8.0 "Oreo."

The Huawei Mate 10 sports a dual-camera system with a 12-megapixel (MP) and 20 MP lens from the German camera maker Leica. The front camera of the device sports an 8 MP lens.

The Huawei Mate 10 also features a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and a massive 4000 mAh battery.
