Fans are about to see two new recurring characters joining the upcoming Showtime hit series "Homeland" season 7.

The "House of Cards" alum Sandrine Holt will be gracing the spy thriller TV show in a mystery role. According to Variety, the 44-year-old star will be seen in at least two episodes of the show with a possibility of having more.

However, on "Homeland" season 7's full cast and crew IMDb page, it is noted that Holt's character will be named Simone Martin and she is set to be seen in five episodes. Showtime has yet to reveal her role's connection to its protagonist Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) or to any of its cast members, but there are talks suggesting that she will play a very significant role.

Fans will also see the return of Lesli Margherita as Sharon. After her appearance in the previous season, the 44-year-old actress is back as a loyal ally of Brett O'Keefe (Jake Weber).

Aside from Holt and Margherita, Dylan Baker, Mackenzie Alexander, and Morgan Spector will be also joining the roster of "Homeland" season 7. On the other hand, Maury Sterling, Jake Weber, and Linus Roache are all promoted as series regulars. Sterling will be reprising his role as Max Piotrowski while Roache will be the White House Chief of Staff David Wellington.

Meanwhile, in the return of the Showtime series, Carrie will be back as  a CIA agent. To recall, she left Langley when she was accused of treason. She took a long hiatus as she did everything to clear her name by returning to the United States and doing voluntary work.

In "Homeland" season 7, she will be seen back to what she does best as she is going to investigate another case that might bring her closer to international terrorists. Showtime has yet to announce the show's official release, but it is expected to be out in 2018 on Showtime.
