Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) are just getting used to the married life in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, but a rumored character hints the marriage will be on the rocks early.

According to reports, Sandra Oh will be back as Cristina Yang in the upcoming season. For those who forgot, she is Owen's former wife. Oh left the series after the 10th season.

The talks started when cast member Kelly McCreary, who plays the role of Maggie in the series, suggested that "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will return to its roots.

"After such a long period of time and so many new people coming in and out, they remain the foundational characters of the show," the actress told TV Guide.

"We're gonna be spending some more time with them to check in with where they are," she went on to say, adding that she is excited to see the spotlight on the "old, established relationships" in the series.

TV Guide suggested that with the core cast at the focus, original characters who left "Grey's Anatomy" such as Oh might figure into the new season as well.

Cristina's return could not come at a worse time for Owen and Amelia as they just tied the now and will be on their honeymoon in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.

Her return will definitely shake things up and will endanger the life span of Owen and Amelia's marriage. However, for now, Oh is not booked to return.

As for Owen and Amelia's first night as newlyweds, Scorsone teased to The Hollywood Reporter that "immediately on the tail of Amelia and Owen's wedding, there's a big explosive drama that's happening right away."

The actress said that it will be "emotionally explosive" and whatever it will be, it will help drive the "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 story forward.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 premieres Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
