Rockstar continues to provide fresh content for "Grand Theft Auto V," although the rumors are rife that the game studio is silently working on the next sequel in the popular "GTA" franchise. It is expected that "Grand Theft Auto VI" will feature the biggest map yet in the entire series, encompassing every other major city already visited by the previous titles. However, the game is not expected to arrive anytime soon.

According to The Sun UK, "Grand Theft Auto VI" is likely to be announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which takes place every June. However, there are no signs that "GTA VI" will be present at this year's E3, or even in the next year. Nevertheless, Rockstar is expected to spill the details as the game continues to undergo development.

It is believed that Rockstar will need some time create "Grand Theft Auto VI," especially since the game itself will include a huge World Map. In an interview with the game studio's president, Leslie Benzies, the contents of the next "GTA" entry is worth 45 years of ideas. Rockstar is considering the idea of involving all cities of the United States, especially those that became popular due to the previous "Grand Theft Auto" installments like Vice City.

"Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favourite areas," Benzies said. This sure sounds exciting for "GTA" fans, but they will need to be more patient as "Grand Theft Auto VI" could be released in 2020. According to Gaming Bolt, a "GTA V" follow-up is not expected to arrive anytime soon, given that Rockstar has other huge game titles to focus on in the coming years, particularly "Red Dead Redemption 2."

At this point, many fans would like to see "Grand Theft Auto VI" becoming available as early as next year, but that appears to be unlikely. Some game analysts think that the next "GTA" sequel will be out in 2021, but due to Rockstar usually announcing a one-year delay for their upcoming titles, the game will ultimately be launched in 2022.
