Google Pixelbook now discounted; comes with free Google Home and Netflix Plan when bought before December ends

Google's most powerful Pixelbook is sold with a discount this month. Those who purchase the computer before December ends gets freebies like the Google Home.

When customers visit the Google store to buy the Pixelbook this month, they will find that all three models of the Pixelbook will be discounted for $100. This means that the most powerful Pixelbook model, originally priced at $1,649, will be available for $1,549.

As mentioned, a free Google Home smart speaker will come with any Pixelbook purchase until Dec. 31, 2017. Buyers need not wait for a discount code when availing the promo. When they add the Pixelbook and the Google Home to the purchase cart, the discounts will be applied automatically to the checkout price.

The lowest-priced Pixelbook costs $999 without discount, but the $1,649 model was touted to be Google's most powerful Chromebook. It has an Intel Core i7 processor, which is faster and better compared to the other models that have Intel Core i5 chipsets.

The $1,649 Pixelbook has double the amount of random access memory (RAM) than other models in its series. It has 16 GB of RAM compared to 8 GB of the other models.

Storage space is superior as well, as it has a 512 GB solid state drive (SSD) utilizing the latest NVMe technology. Thus, its hard drive is much faster and bigger than the lower-priced models. For comparison, the $999 model ($899 discounted) has a 128 GB solid state drive.

In addition to the free Google Home smart speaker, Google is also offering free six months of Netflix's "Two screens at a time" plan, which normally costs $10.99 a month.

The Netflix promo is not exclusive to new buyers of the Pixelbook, though. Anyone who owns any of the three Pixelbook models can avail of the free subscription, provided they redeem it before the month ends.

Those who want to avail of the Netflix promo just need to go to Chrombook's offer site to redeem their free subscription.
