Genovation Cars has announced that the GXE — an all-electric sports car based on the Corvette Grand Sport — will make its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week.

The GXE was originally introduced in October 2016. Since then, different prototypes of the electric sports car have surfaced with each model being more powerful than its predecessor. Now, the latest pre-production model set to break cover at CES 2018 comes with two electric motors that deliver 800 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque.

The Corvette-based all-electric sports car is able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph) in under three seconds and attains a top speed of 209 mph. With this kind of performance, the GXE is able to claim the title of fastest Corvette in the market. Moreover, it is also considered as the fastest street-legal electric sports car in the world.

Genovation's second-generation sports car has a battery capacity of 60 kWh, which translates to a 150-mile driving range. It is also the only electric car in the market to be offered with seven-speed manual transmission. However, customers can still opt for a dual-clutch paddle shift automatic gearbox. Other notable features for the GXE include a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution, an optimized center of gravity and four round tail lights.

The Genovation GXE is currently available to pre-order. It has a starting price of $750,000, which is not surprising given the high level of performance of the all-electric sports car. For those who are willing to shell out this much money, the automaker will be offering bespoke features and equipment based on their preferences.

Prospective customers should decide soon as only 75 examples will be built. First deliveries are scheduled to begin by the end of 2019.

More information about the Corvette-based electric sports car will be revealed at CES 2018 which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 7 to 12.
