'Frozen 2' release date news: rumored plot sees Anna-Elsa fight for the crown

Queen Elsa and Princess Anna Disney

Back in June, actress Idina Menzel, who voiced Queen Elsa in "Frozen," joked that Elsa might fall off a cliff in the sequel and die right in the beginning of the film. While it was meant to be a light-hearted joke given that no official plot synopsis has yet been released, it has sparked a rumor of Elsa and Anna (Kristen Bell) fighting each other in "Frozen 2."

As reported by Game N Guide, rumors have spread that Menzel's comments might ring true in the film and that this plot element might be written into the script. The report continues to point out that it is possible Anna will get jealous over Elsa's rulership and try to claim the crown for her own.

However, due to this Anna will somehow end up killing Olaf (Josh Gad) and later end up killing her own sister by pushing Elsa off a cliff. This may lead to Anna becoming the main villain and her own love interest becoming the main hero as he attempts to stop Anna from destroying the Kingdom of Arendelle.

Fans speculate, however, that the proposed storyline is not true and that Menzel's words were taken too seriously when they were meant to be a joke. One aspect that is possibly going to be included in the film, however, is Elsa discovering she is bisexual or a lesbian to showcase Disney is becoming more open toward the LGBT community.

However, as previously reported, the stars have stated that the film's script is still in development and while any of these rumors might be true at this point they can still be cut out of the film or edited in the final draft of the script, leading to an entirely different story than what is perceived now.

"Frozen 2" has no official release date yet.
