'Fresh Off the Boat' season 4 episodes 14 & 15: Jessica pressures Evan to be the top student

In the next back-to-back episodes of "Fresh Off the Boat," Jessica Huang (Constance Wu) pressures her son Evan (Ian Chen) to become Student of the Month so that she can rub it in Amy Chestnut's (Angela Kinsey) face.

The synopsis and promotional photos for the upcoming installments, which are titled "We Need to Talk About Evan" and "A Man to Share the Night With," were just recently released, and they show Jessica and her children having dinner at a Cattleman's Ranch with Amy and her family.

Jessica is all smiles as she talks about how smart and hardworking Evan is in his class. Apparently, she wants the boy to do very well so that he will become Student of the Month. Once he becomes the tops student, Jessica will be more than happy, and she will rub that in Amy's face.

Amy is at the dinner together with her husband Matthew (Matt Oberg) and their son. She appears to be happy about Jessica's young boy, but it seems like she secretly wants her own son to beat Evan and become Student of the Month.

In the meantime, Evan seems to be under some pressure to become the top kid in the class. Later, he starts seeing the school counselor to get things off his chest. His mom later finds out about it and starts to think twice about pushing her son too hard.

In the last episode, Evan and his brother Emery (Forrest Wheeler) competed with each other to get the attention of their teacher Ms. Doris (Tig Notaro). They wanted to be her favorite student. However, Doris was not too pleased about their shenanigans, and she ended up not liking any one of them, to the kids' dismay.

"Fresh Off the Boat" season 4 episodes 14 & 15 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
