For days, Koei Tecmo has been teasing its fans with sneak peeks from its upcoming game, "Dynasty Warriors 9." On Friday, the developers released a much more elaborate and interactive trailer, featuring the best aspects of the hack-and-slash video game.

Koei Tecmo didn't hold back on their latest trailer. It is over six minutes long and shows the familiar aspects of gameplay as well as some new and mysterious characters of the franchise. The vastness of the new open-world map, battle sequences, and even the housing system are featured in the trailer.

"In Dynasty Warriors 9, you will experience an immersive open-world adventure featuring the signature 'One versus thousands' style action in the series' most ambitious entry to date," reads the description of the game. "The players will explore China as it existed when feudal Warlords vied for dominance over the land - the waning days of the Han dynasty and emergence of the three kingdoms era."

"Setting out to complete various objectives, players will utilize an unprecedented world map to navigate and traverse a variety of different landscapes ranging from vast plains to snow-covered peaks presented with dynamic day/night and weather cycles. The players can explore these impressive environments and engage with the surroundings to gain an Upper hand in battle," it concludes.

"Dynasty Warriors 9" is the newest installment of the Dynasty Empire franchise. Fans of the series will be glad to know that the game still retains some of the most beloved characters from past installments such as Cheng Pu, Xix Xiangying, and Xiahou Dun. However, there will also be new adventures to be had as the latest title features never-before-seen characters, including Li Dan, Lu Su, Huang Zhong, Zhurong, and Meng Huo. Koei Tecmo released a bunch of introductory trailers on Thursday, revealing the nature of the new characters, as well as more gameplay sneak peeks.

Although "Dynasty Warriors 9" is quite similar to the other games in the franchise, what makes the upcoming game more special is the fact that it is the first total open-world title in the whole series. The whole map of China will be laid out first time in an open-world format to provide immense "diverse progression all throughout the game."

The map is a beautiful display of all of China's natural riches and sights during the Han Dynasty, with excellent graphics and stunning features. It's evident that the developers spent enough time planning out every detail of the map for the purpose of historical accuracy and to make players feel like they are neck-deep in the game's world.

"Dynasty Warriors 9" will first release in Japan on Feb. 8 next year exclusively on PlayStation 4 (PS4). Meanwhile, the Western release will follow a few days later on Feb. 13 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
