The free to play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game "Dota 2" or "Defense of Ancients 2" is perhaps one of the most-played games in the world. Ever since the inception of eSports and big video game tournaments, the game's developers and creators had to be careful with the game's tweaks in order to ensure a balanced gameplay.
Now, the creators of the "Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos" community mod is set to release yet another update for the game, patch 6.88e.
It has been over a month since the game's largest tournament — The International 2016 (TI6) — has concluded. Players are probably now training their different main characters along with their respective teams to prepare for the next event. However, it might be wise for players to take note of the changes that are going to be coming with the patch as they do include a number of nerfs to several characters on top of the previous patches, namely, patch 6.88c and patch 6.88d.
The majority of the changes included in patch 6.88e are quite minor, including the reduction of Timbersaw's base strength by 1 point. However, several other changes included in the path are more significant, which means that players who main the characters affected by the patch might need to change their strategies altogether.
The patch notes do detail a number of pretty big changes to the game. One of the biggest changes that will immediately be noticed is the doubled mana cost of the Keeper of the Light's Mana Leak ability, which will now cost a whopping 150 mana. This means that players might have to think twice about spamming the ability during a battle's early stages.
Other big changes include tweaks to the Faceless Void's Time Dilation and Counter Helix abilities. Ice Frog also revealed that another big update might be on the way in the form of patch 6.89, which will likely be coming out before the next Major happens.
