Video game developer Square Enix has announced the schedule of the Japanese open beta for "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT." The testing event for the said fighting game will be showcasing several of the play modes available.

"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" open beta will be held on six separate dates. These will be Dec. 23, Dec. 24, Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 6, and Jan. 7. On these dates play testing will start on 6:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time (JST) and will end on 11:00 p.m. JST.

Several game modes will be available for play during the "Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" open beta.

First, there is "Class Match." This is the typical multiplayer battle mode, in which there are two types. One is "Class Match (Solo)" wherein a player takes full control of a three-member party to battle against other players. "Class Match (Party)" is a six-player battle wherein a each character is controlled by players from anywhere in Japan.

"Rush Battle" is the single-player experience. In this mode, the player's three-member party will fight in a series of battles against the computer's party.

Stories and "lost memories" can be accessed in the course of playing the game. Unlocking these goodies require "Memoria," which can be obtained by raising the player's "P.Lv" (or "power level").

By playing the different modes, players can also obtain "Treasures," similar to a loot crate mechanic. These treasures may contain various cosmetic rewards, like character skins and player icons. All of the rewards can be used by delving into "Customize" mode. In this mode, players can adjust skins and EX skills for their characters.

The open beta will be available for Japan. However, there are rumors that an international play test may be coming as well.

"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT" is the third title in the Final Fantasy-inspired fighting game. It is expected to be fully released in January of 2018.
