For the past few months, Bungie has constantly been releasing new content and updates for their highly popular online first-person shooter video game "Destiny." The added effort is likely due to the developer's incessant desire to appease its growing fan base.
Now, the developers have gone above and beyond the call of duty as they apparently had a hand in organizing one of the biggest in-game marriage proposals which included custom-made items, emotes, and other unique additions made especially for the occasion.
In-game proposals are, of course, not something new in the gaming industry as a lot of players have been doing them using the already available items within the game. However, the recently held proposal on "Destiny" is quite unique as the developers themselves had actually chipped in to make the entire event extra special.
Adriel Wallick and Rami Ismail both have been playing the game since it was released and have spent a lot of hours going on quests together. When Wallick decided to propose to her partner, she then sought the help of the developers at Bungie to make the proposal a one-of-a-kind event.
The developers were then quick to oblige in helping with the romantic gesture and created a special "Proposal" emote which animated Wallick's character to go down on one knee. The gesture also included a description which reads: "Will you take me for better or worse, in the Tower or on a patrol, for as long as we both have Light?"
A proposal wouldn't be complete without a ring, so Bungie added one especially for the occasion and called it the "Ring of Eternity." The unique artifact was also accompanied by a "Letter from Adriel," which was given to the game's Postmaster.
After everything was said and done and Ismael finally said "yes," the pleasantly surprised guardian then went on Twitter to thank the developers for their participation.
"Thank you to the games industry, which throughout my life has given me joy, purpose, friendship, community, love – and now a fiancé. That's like a custom emote, a custom item and two custom artifacts – how did @Bungie even sneak this in without data miners finding it?" Ismail had mentioned in his Twitter post.
