The 2017 Game Awards is just around the corner, and with it, tons of surprises about some of the popular upcoming games will soon be revealed. Of course, a lot of big names in the gaming industry will be attending as well, and one of them is Konami Legend Hideo Kojima, creator of "Death Stranding."

Kojima's appearance at the 2017 Game Awards was announced by the organizers through their official Twitter account. "We are so thrilled to announce our next presenter for Thursday night: Hideo Kojima! The legendary game director will once again appear at #TheGameAwards," read the tweet.

With Kojima and Del Toro's confirmed attendance at the event, fans are hoping that they would get to see more "Death Stranding" material or even a new trailer. The possibility is quite likely, as last year's Game Awards saw the release of the game's second trailer.

Not much information is known about "Death Stranding." As of the moment, only scarce details are available about Kojima's upcoming game.

It's Kojima's first major project after leaving Konami, and other than the two trailers shown last year, what is known about the game is that it will be published by Sony Entertainment and is set to be a PlayStation 4 (PS4)-exclusive offering. The title is also getting quite an attention because some of its main cast includes "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus and "Hannibal" star Mads Mikkelsen. Guillermo Del Toro will also be present in the game.

Many are really hoping to see more of the title's gameplay, as some fans are holding on to the promise of Sony Interactive Entertainment America President and CEO Shawn Layden when he mentioned back in June, "We shouldn't have to wait too long to get our first tease of the title in action." Maybe an official release date is on the cards as well?

Nevertheless, fans of Kojima must stay tuned to this year's Game Awards, which will be held on Dec. 7 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Both Kojima and Del Toro are presenters of the awards.

No official release date of "Death Stranding" is available as of yet.
