A brand new patch has now been officially announced to be on its way for the highly popular action role playing video game, "Dark Souls 3." The patch itself has been revealed to be making some significant enhancements and bug fixes to the game presumably to prepare it for its first major DLC expansion pack, "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel."

The game's publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment, had announced that it would be releasing the patch a few days before "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" arrives. While different territories and consoles would not be getting the patch at exactly the same time, the patch itself will be rolling out this week, on Friday, Oct. 21.

The changes that will be included in the patch will be significant ones and based on the recently published patch notes, the update apparently will be getting rid of the minor bugs in the game, which include incorrect stamina drains for strong attacks using pickaxes, corrected dash attacks while using a Farron Greatsword, and other smaller glitches.

The patch will reportedly also be changing the game's poise values "across the board," and will allow players to have an increased resistance to stagger during hyperarmor frames. This means that a player's "Poise" is now more effective when using heavy weapons and heavy armor. An increased poise value basically determines how much attacks a player can sustain before being staggered out of a hyperarmor frame.

A few days after the patch will be released, the long awaited first DLC expansion pack, "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel," will arrive on Oct. 25. The DLC is the first of two planned DLCs that will be included in the game's $25 season pass. Players can also purchase the DLC separately for $15 when it is released. The second unnamed DLC expansion pack is set to arrive sometime in early 2017.
