Developer 2K Games has announced the system requirements for its upcoming turn-based strategy game "Civilization 6" mere weeks before its official release so that fans can prepare their gear for the experience.

The minimum and recommended requirement for the PC to effectively run the 4X video game in terms of the operating system is 64-bit of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10. Needless to say, a DVD-ROM will be needed to install the game.

A hard drive with 12 GB or more will handle "Civilization 6" excellently. Pairing it with 4 GB of RAM will do while doubling that to 8 GB will better serve "Civilization 6" players.

Meanwhile, the minimum requirement of "Civilization 6" for the processor is an Intel Core i3 2.5 GHz or AMD Phenom II 2.6 GHz, but 2K Games recommends the fourth generation Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz or AMD FX8350 4.0 GHz and greater.

Finally, the minimum requirement for the video card is 1GB DirectX 11 with the likes of the AMD 5570 or Nvidia 450. It will be much better with 2 GB DirectX 11 video cards such as the AMD 7970 or Nvidia 770.

2K Games also took some of their time to thank fans who helped them make it all happen. "Thank you for your patience while we tested a variety of systems to ensure Civilization 6 is as optimized as it can be," the studio wrote.

Prior to the announcement of the system requirements, 2K also announced that "Civilization 6" will see Trajan, the 13th emperor of Rome and a successful soldier, lead the empire.

"Trajan's incredible military skill was matched by the love his people garnered for him. He cared for the people by creating a welfare program for orphans and impoverished children," 2K Games described the character.

"Civilization 6" will officially hit the stores on Oct. 21. A 25th Anniversary Edition priced at $90 was also announced. It features additional digital content and physical collector's merchandise.
