In the next back-to-back episodes of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5, Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) helps out his colleague Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) break some controversial news to her parents.

The synopses and promotional photos for the upcoming installments titled "Game Night" and "The Favor" were released recently. When Rosa's father Oscar (Danny Trejo) and mother Julia (Olga Merediz) make a surprise visit to New York, she realizes that this is a good opportunity to tell her parents that she is bisexual and has a girlfriend.

However, she is a bit afraid to share the controversial news alone. So, Rosa asks Jake to intervene in the situation. Jake is nothing but glad to assist Rosa in these delicate circumstances. They decide to have dinner with the parents at a fancy restaurant to ease them into Rosa's recent development.

Rosa, unfortunately, hesitates out of fear and stalls for time. Things turn for the worse when Oscar thinks that she and Jake are dating and that they are just afraid to tell them directly. Jake does not know whether Oscar's idea is good or bad for them but needs to tell the truth about Rosa sooner or later.

It remains to be seen how Oscar and Julia will react to their daughter's new revelation and if they will still accept her for that.

In the last episode, Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugher) found out that he was in the running for police commissioner but was stuck in Los Angeles with the rest of the cops. Jake decided to help Holt get back to New York for the interview because he believed in the captain. Holt was able to return to the city and attend the interview in the end.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 episodes 10 and 11 will air on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
