In the next episode of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations," Team 7, which is made up of Boruto (Yuko Sanpei), Sarada (Kokoro Kikuchi), and Mitsuki (Ryuichi Kijima), embark on their first mission.

The trailer for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Team 7: The First Mission," was released just recently, and it shows Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki, together with their mentor Konohamaru (Hidenori Takahashi), talking about their upcoming mission.

Boruto is confident and says, "We'll carry out any sort of mission that gets thrown our way, successfully." Sarada wonders what the lowest-ranked mission will be like and asks Konohamaru. However, Boruto interrupts them and blurts out, "Well, let's just start off with the highest-ranked one right off the bat and show them just how awesome Team 7 is!"

According to Otakukart, it seems that their mission is going to be a fairly difficult one. Apparently, Boruto and his team have to stop and catch some bandits who have been attacking a certain village. The leader of the village is a woman by the name of Kiri. The three friends have a chance to show their skills and try to work as a team. Boruto and Sarada are known to have opposing views, but they recently agreed to try and get along with each other in order to succeed in their mission.

In the last episode, the origin story of Mitsuki was revealed, and it turned out that he was created by Orochimaru (Kujira) as a clone. Nevertheless, his Sage Mode ability was demonstrated which appeared to be very powerful. He also possessed the Sage Transformation ability, which he could only use subconsciously. He was one of the youngest to have these powers.

Episode 40 of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will air on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 4:25 a.m. EST with simulcast streaming on both Crunchyroll and Hulu.
