"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 40 will feature Boruto's life as a genin. He will be forming a group with Sarada and Mitsuki, which they will call the Team 7.

The name Team 7 is from the group of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura when they were still young ninjas. Their team will be led by Jonin Sarutobi Konohamaru. After thorough training, Boruto and his friends are now ready to take their first mission.

According to reports, their first mission is to repel the bandits who have been attacking a village. They need to make sure that the bandits will no longer return to disturb the villagers. To start their mission, Boruto and the rest of the team members will immediately go to the village.

As they arrive in the area, they will come face-to-face with a young woman. Her name is Kiri and she is the daughter of the village chief. Since the village chief already passed away, Kiri is the current head of the village. Spoilers reveal that Kiri will be kidnapped by other ninjas. This will shift their mission from merely repelling bandits to rescuing Kiri.

In another news, fans are wondering if the next arc, which is about the Chunin Exams, will keep one key plot point. Boruto will train under Sasuke to impress his father Naruto. But Boruto will be hesitant to join the exams. However, he will change his mind when he is talked into cheating using the chakra technology.

ComicBook reports that fans are wondering if the anime version will show Boruto's forced cheating whenever he is outmatched. Aside from that, the new arc will be featuring a new set of ninjas from the Kaguya clan. But the real highlight of the Chunin Exams arc is how Boruto will respect Naruto as the Hokage of the village and how he will accept his role as Naruto's son.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 40 will air on Wednesdy, Jan. 10. It will also be available on Crunchyroll at 5:35 p.m. EST.
