Given the success of the original 2009 science fiction movie, "Avatar," and how it was able to win numerous accolades and earn billions of dollars at the box office, movie goers are expecting a lot from the film's highly anticipated sequel, "Avatar 2." The film's director, James Cameron, has already confirmed that several sequels are in the pipeline, but new reports have revealed that the first sequel might have already hit a snag.

According to the latest rumor reports, it seems like some of the original film's cast members are having problems with their talent fees and are actually demanding to be paid more to appear in the upcoming sequels. The actors are reportedly demanding to be paid higher wages given the success of the first film. "Avatar" actually became the highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing Titanic, which held the record for twelve years. The movie made an estimated $2.7 billion in ticket sales worldwide.

A couple of the stars that are reportedly demanding higher fees include the original movie's lead actors, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. Reports have revealed that the two are apparently unwilling to appear during filming if their demands are not met. Cameron himself mentioned that it would be difficult for them to meet their demands due to budget constraints in making the new sequels.

Previous reports have revealed that Cameron has a lot of plans for the next movie, which will include using state of the art filming technology. He was even quoted in saying that he wishes to bring forth the next breakthrough in cinematic technology by allowing fans to watch the new movies in 3D, but without the glasses.

"I'm going to push. Not only for better tools, workflow, high dynamic range and high frame rates — the things we are working toward. I'm still very bullish on 3D, but we need brighter projection, and ultimately I think it can happen — with no glasses. We'll get there," the director mentioned during the recently held Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers' Centennial Gala.

"Avatar 2," along with three planned sequels are scheduled to be released in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2023, respectively.
