"Attack on Titan" season 2 won't air until next year. As the wait continues, new details about the highly-anticipated return of the anime come to light.

The anime has been to the letter in following the source material with the first season managing to cover the first four arcs of the manga. That is a total of 36 chapters squeezed into 25 episodes.

The next story arcs in the manga, namely the "Clash of the Titans" arc and the "Uprising" arc, collectively have 36 chapters as well, which, if the pacing will be the same, might be enough for "Attack on Titan" season 2.

As fans of the manga know, there is an ongoing story arc, "Return to Shiganshina," which introduces crazy and game-changing revelations.

Those who have been following the "Attack on Titan" manga by Hajime Isayama would know that the latest chapters of the story entail big revelations that are sure to change the direction of the anime.

However, although it is possible that the "Return to Shiganshina" arc will not be in "Attack on Titan" season 2, there are tons of exciting things in "Clash of the Titans" and "Uprising."

The former follows a plot involving a breach in Wall Rose, which allowed a group of Titans to wreak havoc inside the walls. The 104th Training Corps prime for a bloody battle as another kind of danger waits.

As for the "Uprising" arc, "Attack on Titan" season 2 will likely follow the development that sees Historia and Eren being kidnapped while Erwin prepares to overthrow the government.

Depending on the nature of the meat of the chapters, these two story arcs may be enough to cover "Attack on Titan" season 2.

At the moment, there's no official word with regards to what fans can expect in the new season. However, it might be too early for details since "Attack on Titan" season 2 won't premiere until spring next year.
