Apple Watch Series 3 specs, features, review: Apple likens smartwatch to a wrist computer

The Apple Watch Series 3 Apple

Ever since the Apple Watch Series 3 has been released last September, the smartwatch has been doing very well in the market. In fact, the gadget is receiving a number of positive reviews compared to its predecessors.

Aesthetics-wise, the third-generation model of the Apple Watch looks the same as the Series 2, but packs some upgrades such as a new processor and cellular connectivity among others. It also ranks ninth among the best gadgets of 2017 by TIME magazine.

Apple added a lot of new features and improvements to the Apple Watch Series 3. From its user interface and some new additions, it is now more suitable for active users and sports enthusiasts. The device can now track its wearers' workouts and fitness activities more accurately.

Aside from the new and improved Series 2's standalone GPS and swim tracking, the third-generation smartwatch now has optional LTE connectivity. This means that while users are on the go, this will allow them to leave their smartphones at home and still be connected. With this unit, the user can still receive text messages and calls even if their mobile phones are not within reach.

The Apple Watch Series 3 is said to be a computer on the wrist with its increased battery life and a user-friendly software. It also has a faster dual-core processor that can deliver up to 70 percent faster performance, quick application launch, and generally smooth interface.

Unlike its predecessor's watchOS, it is easier to navigate, making it less complicated to use. There are also newly added animated watch faces that users could definitely enjoy such as the characters from the movie "Toy Story."

The smartwatch's wireless chip lets its WiFi run faster and give it wireless internet connection and Bluetooth-enhanced power efficiency. Aside from that, the device is now waterproof for a much-better swimming experience experience, which makes it a great fitness tracker.
